How to make a mask

Making masks out of cotton paper is a fun thing to do but the process is very time-consuming. This is my procedure:

1. Sculpt the form of the mask on top of a face-shaped base.
2. Make a negative cast out of it in plaster.
3. Put pieces of cotton paper in the cast, soaked in water and wallpaper glue powder.
4. Put several layers and wait until its dry.
5. Take the mask off carefully, repair some areas and let it dry again.
6. Put on another layer of wall paper glue and let it dry
7. Sand the mask with sand paper - repeat it several times.
8. Paint the mask with gesso
9. Paint the mask with acrylics and oil colours.
10. Add a matte or shiny varnish and embellish the inside of the mask with tissue paper.
